In the 1980s, school diaries were packed with advertisements. Colorful advertisements from Nike, O'Neill, Swatch and of course all kinds of perfume brands such as Boucheron, Bijan, Jil Sander, Salvador Dali, Bogner and Benetton. That's how I discovered my first real perfume, Colors de Benetton. I was about 14 when I got the bottle. I was extremely smitten with it and used it caringly and sparingly. I think this is where my love for perfume was sparked.
When I turned 16 I received Joop! Le Bain for my birthday! I have worn this perfume for years and I still wear it with some regularity. Years passed and one discovery after another entered my perfume cabinet. From permanent perfume favorites such as Thierry Mugler Angel and Rochas Tocade, to Chanel Allure and Gucci eau de perfume, to just as many occasional try outs.
Memories are often linked to scent, at least for me, and so later in life I sometimes felt the desire to buy a perfume from the past again, to invigorate some memories. How frustrated I became to discover that many of those perfumes were simply no longer available. Especially as a result of the consumer society we live in now. One perfume after another is brought onto the market to meet the wishes of the consumer and the older perfume creations often disappear as a result.
This is how the desire arose to collect and track down these scents and offer them via a platform, thinking that there are probably many people like me who would like to buy their favorite perfume once again.
